WASHINGTON — President Obama asked Congress on Wednesday to scrub the corporate tax code of dozens of loopholes and subsidies to reduce the top rate to 28 percent, from 35 percent, while giving preferences to manufacturers that would set their maximum effective rate at 25 percent.
Many comparisons have been made between the Giants team that defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII and the team that will play the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday. But this past week in Indianapolis, most of the players on this year’s team who played in that memorable Super Bowl in 2008 chose to emphasize the differences between the two teams rather than the similarities.
